The Federation of Southern Cooperatives is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting and advocating for Black Farmers, landowners, and cooperatives in the rural South. The organization focuses on land retention, economic empowerment, and sustainable development by providing education, advocacy, and technical assistance.

LAND RETENTION PROGRAM: aims to preserve and strengthen African American land ownership in the rural South. It provides legal assistance to resolve heirs' property issues, clear titles, and prevent land loss. The program offers education and training on land management, estate planning, and sustainable agriculture, empowering landowners with the necessary knowledge and skills. Through advocacy, it works to influence policies protecting African American landowners and farmers. Additionally, the program provides technical assistance to access financial aid and agricultural support and conducts research to address challenges and develop effective land retention strategies.
- Co-op Development: Organizing and supporting groups of individuals to form jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprises to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs.
- Land Retention: Reversing the trend of Black land loss and encouraging land-based economic development through outreach education and direct technical assistance.
- Advocacy: Serving as the voice of Black farmers, landowners and cooperatives across the South.
