Position Summary

Johnny's Selected Seeds has an immediate opening for a Full-time, Year-round, Operations Team Leader/Shipping. This position is located at the Winslow, Maine facility. The standard hours for this position are 5:50am - 2:20pm, some overtime is required. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.

Team Leaders are responsible for overseeing the workflow, setting the pace, and assisting the supervisor in daily work functions. They ensure that work is performed efficiently and take the lead in resolving any issues. Working with full-time and Seasonal staff to make sure that orders are processed and shipped based on our service level to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and promote JSS safety practices.
• Work to share our company mission and values.
• Provide a positive attitude to the work environment.
• Monitor workflow in the department to ensure efficient and accurate inventories in our products.
• Must be able to communicate well with all departments.
• Actively work to create a harmonious work environment.
• Ensure that the staff follows all company workplace policies.
• Assist in the new hire training.
• Provide regular feedback of opportunities, issues, and successes to employees, and report back to supervisor or management as appropriate.
• Engage in process improvement initiatives.
• Monitor performance of staff members. Report observation to the supervisor, management, and HR as applicable.
• Will be responsible for workflow tasks that vary with customer and business needs.
• Work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer, math, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to successfully lead a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High comprehension of workflow processes.
• Excellent attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to adapt to constant priority changes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read, communicate, and work with numbers.
• Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift to 70 lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to climb stationary ladders.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for at least 80% of the work day.
