About the Butterfly™ Series:
Developed in Japan, Butterfly™ ranunculus produces multiple branching stems per plant with 5–7 blooms per stem. Its distinctive 2–3" wide blooms more closely resemble cosmos or poppies than traditional ranunculus. The flower petals also have a thin, waxy layer that helps make them surprisingly durable and creates a sparkling, opalescent sheen on the petal's surface. The plant habit is quite different from the more widely known or traditional type of cut-flower ranunculus: Butterfly ranunculus has larger corms; tall, branching stems; larger leaves; and a vigorous plant habit that requires wider spacing. Do not pinch plants, as plants branch naturally. Unauthorized reproduction and sale of corms is prohibited by the breeder.
Please Note: This crop requires very specific growing conditions; please review our growing instructions before investing in corms.
Butterfly™ Series corms (tuberous roots) are not graded or sized and vary somewhat depending on variety, typically 2.5–4 cm in width and 5–6.5 cm in length.
About This Variety:
Hestia's blooms have a delicate antique appearance with blush-pink- and cream-colored petals.
